My Most Worn Accessories Round-Up

Simple, versatile and often with a hint of silver, I think I've finally got my accessories collection pretty much down *air punch*. It's been a long road with many cases of green-tinged fingers and designer knock-offs along the way, but after several clear-outs I'm very happy with my streamlined selection of outfit details.

Whether the purpose of an accessory is to evoke timeless style or act as part of a particular trend, their one collective duty is to elevate an outfit, so allow me to show you my current favourites that constantly save me from a case of the dreaded 'basic bitches'...

As soon as the weekend rocks around and I'm no longer laden down with all sorts of work-ey things, I switch over to a cross body bag. I love to be hands-free and carry only the essentials, so this style of bag is a great answer to my off-duty demands, and when it comes in a gorgeous leopard print?! Gimme!

Sadly this particular number was a Black Friday steal from way back when, however I've linked up the bag I think is the next best thing...

To me, there’s nothing more nineties-fabulous than a pair of classic white trainers. These Adidas Superstars go with all manners of outfits, especially when paired with some kind of formalwear such as a tailored trouser or a cool jumpsuit. I love to create a sense of juxtaposition with my personal style, whether that be by combining smart with casual or masculine with feminine – basically, the list goes on and on. And besides, who wouldn't want to dress like their six-year old self and it be considered perfectly okay?

Enter a whole heap of Monica Vinader. Hammered silver and stacking rings are kind of my thang and MV offers them in a plentiful of shapes and sizes, so of course for every birthday and Christmas for the past few years, I’ve asked for a special something from my favourite jewellery brand. Aside from warning you that their stuff is highly addictive, I can’t sing the praises of these pieces enough.

As well as my beloved Siren and Riva rings, another couple of accessories in my everyday collection come from Orelia London and Thomas Sabo. This knot bangle is the perfect answer to the endless issue of never finding bracelets that will stay on my bony-ass wrists, plus it’s a minimalist’s dream. Then there’s this irregular little ring, which is by far the glitziest piece of jewellery I own and steps in as the perfect stacking addition.

When I first saw these blogger-famous rounded Ray-Ban sunglasses way back when, I knew I had to have them. Almost a year later, I have no regrets (John Lennon jokes aside). I still get excited to crack these out at the first sign of a bit of sun – possibly because it’s so rare in the UK but that’s not the point – and they even have a little personalised engraving of my initials on the frame! God bless my always-thoughtful Mumsy…

There is nothing ground-breaking about the appreciation of a good ankle boot, however a shout-out to these beige, suede babies is well overdue. An exaggerated point of the toe just does things for me, okay?!

Bringing them into spring time, I plan to pair these with a lot more light denim, some splashes of gingham and - wait for it - bare legs! I think these boots will work wonders with a day dress or denim shorts if weather permits (and fake tan becomes available by the bucket...)

I will never tire of talking about the beloved slip-on loafer trend. It is my life mission to get this pair from Gucci but until that time/never, this patterned pair are a seriously good substitute. I've basically risked catching hypothermia multiple times when wearing these through the winter season, but it's okay because it was 100% worth it. Surprisingly, they're also pretty comfortable to walk in  after a little getting-used-to too, so definitely a trend I recommend trying if you're still yet to dip your toes in - literally. Buh-dum-tsssss!
