My Top Five Luxury Beauty Bits

As time goes by, the ambitions for my blog evolve. What was once a website specifically reserved for fashion under the title of elisha-mae I wear this? has after two years become a hub for interiors, lifestyle and of course some more style updates, all wrapped up in a much simpler rhyme - Elisha-Maé Sharing a bunch of my interests, insights and tips with you babes across a whole range of categories has been a lot of fun so far and seemingly it's something you're enjoying just as much as me - yay! With this in mind, I'm keen to continue the fun and break more fresh ground. Next on my list of things to tackle: Beauty...

I'm no makeup addict, in fact I boast a pretty streamlined collection compared to most. This means it takes a lot for me to invest in new luxury products, but boy am I glad I did with the following. In keeping with routine of application, lets start off with the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. A cult product designed for those who need to combat oily skin, I can't sing this product's praises enough as a long-time sufferer of bases that separate half-way throughout the day. I like to use a dense buffing brush to pop this on at super speed in the mornings and I find it wears really well for hours, lasting longer on the skin than anything else I've ever tried before and waving away symptoms of teenage skin, no problem.

If you haven't already, you'll soon notice a recurring theme of base products when it comes to my top five choices for high-end beauty bits. I'm a big believer when it comes to investing in my skin as it is a terribly big insecurity of mine. Excess oil aside, I'm very pale and due to thin skin, have a lot of blue-ey toned veins peering through too - enter the Naked Skin concealer by Urban Decay. Creamy and full-coverage, it is the answer to my one of many silly female insecurities - slaps own wrist.

Still on the topic of my fair skin worries, I don't think I'll ever shy away from an unseasonable tan. Since trying a friend's Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronze Universel (AKA Chanel cream bronzer to us average Joes) I've been hooked on the stuff and would recommend to ev-e-ry-bo-dy.

The over-the-top highlighter trend is showing no signs of slowing down, and I'm definitely not mad about it. I had a few different high-shine products to choose from to fill this gap as they are admittedly my weakness, however despite the various options I always come back to the M.A.C Cream Colour Base in the shade 'Pearl'. Not quite silver but not quite gold either, this metallic fusion looks beautiful when warmed up on the tips of my fingers and patted onto the high points of the cheeks, nose and cupid's bow, as well as on the inner corners of the eyes. Because of it's creamy texture, it melts into any other base products I've got going on seamlessly, ironically injecting some dewiness back in place of the oils I just soaked up with the other previously mentioned killer products. As the cool girls would say, 'SMH' (I on the other hand had to Google it to check it meant 'Shaking My Head', y'know just in case...)

To finish things off, let's talk Charlotte Tilbury. When the Kim K.W. lipstick released I knew it would be a goodie and it's certainly lived up to my high expectations. As an endless devotee to the nude lip, it is the loveliest light pink to pat on alone, pair with a lip liner for something more full-on or layer over other colours when you're having a princess moment and one lipstick just won't do - guilty hand raise.
